EnergyCAP’s New Website Supports New Era in Energy Management Software

EnergyCAP, Inc. (“ECI”) launched a new customer-focused website today to support the new era in energy management software. The site, www.EnergyCAP.com, was designed to support the company’s new online version of its popular and best-selling software, EnergyCAP®. The new version of EnergyCAP serves organizations that want flexible web-based energy tracking, utility bill auditing, and greenhouse gas reporting. The website and EnergyCAP were created using the best practices of design, usability, and content.

“We needed a website that reflected the new era of energy efficiency software,” said ECI Marketing Director Chris S. Heinz. “Now we have a solution for everyone: installed client/server software for large and complex organizations, web-based software (also called software-as-a-service or SaaS) for smaller organizations, and a free online energy analysis tool for single building owners. There is literally something for everyone.”

For the website redesign, Heinz enlisted the help of Art Director Phil Kolb, who envisioned a clean, crisp, and compelling design; and Web Experience Specialist Brian Hoffman, who conducted usability testing to create an intuitive user interface. The result is a website that is concordant with its best-selling products: easy to navigate, enjoyable to use, time well spent.

Heinz encourages people to visit the website often to see changes in the online version of EnergyCAP. “Our development team is working hard to integrate into the online version the features that have made our installed version so popular over the past 25 years,” Heinz said. “Energy reporting and benchmarking are currently available in the online version and, in the fall, bill entry will be included. This is only the beginning; the new era has begun.”
